Suburban Camp 2022

It was a hot July day at the Gymnázium Česká, and I was excited to be a part of the summer camp for kids there. I had been chosen to lead a group of 12-year-olds in a soldering and programming workshop, and I was eager to share my passion for electronics with them.

As the kids arrived, I could see the excitement in their eyes. Many of them had never soldered or programmed before, and they were eager to learn. I introduced myself and explained the basics of soldering, showing them how to hold the iron properly and melt the solder onto the circuit board.

I had prepared simple circuits in the shape of arrows with lights on them, and the kids eagerly got to work soldering them together. At first, they were a little unsure of themselves, but as the day went on, they started to get the hang of it. By the end of the workshop, they were soldering like pros.

After they finished soldering, I taught them how to program the circuits using Arduino. They were fascinated by the possibilities of programming, and they quickly started experimenting with different code to make the lights on their circuits blink and flash in different patterns.

The eight hours we spent together flew by, and before I knew it, it was time to say goodbye. As the kids left, they all thanked me and told me how much they had enjoyed the workshop. I was filled with a sense of satisfaction and pride, knowing that I had helped to ignite a passion for electronics in a new generation of young minds.

Overall, it was an incredible experience, and I will always cherish the memories of that summer camp at Gymnázium Česká.

Take a look at the memories we share!
