Czech Rocket Challenge 2023

On June 14th, we took part in the Czech Rocket Challenge, an exciting competition designed for high school and university students. This event challenges teams to design, test, build, and ultimately launch their own rockets.

In this competition, success isn’t measured by height alone. The evaluation also considers the rocket’s complexity, design sophistication, and even the ingenuity of any messages incorporated into the project.

I’m thrilled to share that our two teams managed to build rockets that could actually fly! They started by 3D modeling every part of the rocket, printed it on a 3D printer, assembled it piece by piece, and even wrote code to deploy the parachute at just the right moment. They overcame all the rigorous tests required for the competition, placed the rocket on the launch pad, counted down, and blasted them off into the sky! One team nailed it, with their rocket shooting towards the heavens and landing gracefully back on Earth. The other team? Let’s just say their rocket had a fiery journey straight to the underworld!

Take a look at the memories we share!
